Project
The project’s goal is to tell Sardinia’s history by presenting the specific incidents that took place in the places that Angioy sailed through and in the towns that were crossed by the new ideas of freedom during the anti-feudal uprisings (1793–96).
These identity tourism routes, established in 2017 from an idea by Prof. Michele Pinna (founder and long-time Scientific Director of the Bellieni Institute of Sassari, who passed away in 2022), encompass 21 municipalities selected for their historical significance in the Angioyani events.
Semestene, Bonorva, Rebeccu, Thiesi, Torralba, Bessude, Cheremule, Ossi, Macomer, Sassari, Santu Lussurgiu, Ittiri, Uri, Alghero, Mores, Ardara, Banari, Florinas, Bono, Santa Teresa, and Oristano were all involved, in various capacities, in the whirlwind of revolutionary events: either as theaters of struggle and heroic resistance, or as birthplaces of important figures of the Sardinian Revolution, or as protagonists of crucial events.
Giuseppina Ruggiu (teacher, graduate in prehistoric and protohistoric archaeology, and tour guide), Antonello Nasone (professor of Political Philosophy), Stefano Alberto Tedde (archivist, graduate in Cultural Heritage, and qualified in Archival Science, Palaeography, and Diplomatics from the State Archives of Cagliari), and Maria Laura Melas (young scholar of Archaeology) have studied and developed a series of evocative itineraries. These itineraries include not only history, archaeology, and art history but also local productions, manufactures, and crafts, to offer you a complete experience of our territories.
Objectives of the project 'In sos Logos de Angioy'
It seeks to build and strengthen a network of collaboration by inviting municipalities, associations, bodies, institutions, and companies in the affected regions.
The project tries to incorporate the several realities impacted by Angioy's trajectory, first as Alternos and subsequently as a revolutionary.
With the help of the local community and with the intention of representing their diverse and intricate features, the project aims to improve the natural and landscape resources of the areas.
It aims to draw attention to their distinctive genres and diversities as well as their idiosyncrasies in music, dance, worship, gastronomy, and literary forms.
The territories that Angioy travelled through and that the project brought together are set to form an itinerary that will connect the coastal towns with the interior towns.
The vicissitudes of history, coupled with the island's natural ones, could potentially offer an added thrust that persuades people to visit our region, which is rich in ideas and capable of eliciting powerful emotions.
Towns, churches, rest spots, welcome areas, natural locations, historical sites, museums, and refreshment areas will all gain from project participation.
The project will serve as a unique and distinctive opportunity for memory, culture, knowledge, apparent and immaterial exchanges.
To create a multifaceted and complex identity, the initiative will promote interaction with minor and significant aspects of history that are all imbued with humanity.
